Recap: Chowchilla Tribe vs. Yosemite Badgers
The Chowchilla Tribe had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They strolled past Yosemite with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 63-48. That's another feather in the cap for Chowchilla, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Chowchilla's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ryan Deatherage led the charge by scoring 13 points along with five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Zayne Smith, who scored ten points along with six assists and two steals.
Chowchilla's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-8. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.2 points per game. As for Yosemite, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chowchilla will take on Sierra at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Yosemite, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Liberty at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Liberty focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Friday.
