Basketball Game Preview: Waukee Warriors vs. Northwest Wolves

The Waukee Warriors will head out to take on the Northwest Wolves at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Waukee knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten matches -- so hopefully Northwest likes a good challenge.

Waukee is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Iowa's top teams: Dowling Catholic, who was ranked tenth at the time (Waukee was ranked seventh). Waukee secured a 62-57 W over Dowling Catholic on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Northwest got the win against Southeast Polk on Tuesday by a conclusive 69-49. The Wolves have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 20 points or more this season.

Waukee's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-2. As for Northwest, they have also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season.

Waukee didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Northwest when the teams last played back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 67-61 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Waukee since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
