Basketball Recap: Montello Comes Up Short

Montello was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 55-33 to the Markesan Hornets. While losing is never fun, the Hilltoppers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 346th, while the Hornets are ranked 68th).

Montello's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Markesan, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-2.

Montello will host Pardeeville at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Markesan and Rio will compete for holiday cheer at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday.
