Basketball Recap: Banneker Find Success

Banneker won the last time they faced School Without Walls, and Kylee Deskins did her part to make sure it happened again. The Banneker Bulldogs sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 45-43 victory over the School Without Walls Penguins on Thursday thanks in part to Deskins, who shot 4-for-6 from long range and dropped a double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds. Those 11 boards gave her a new career-high.

Ava Baughns was another key player, putting up four points in addition to ten rebounds and four steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in each of the last 16 games she's played.

School Without Walls lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Sophie Whitaker, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 11 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Liliana Dietz, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 12 rebounds.

Banneker's record is now 15-5. As for School Without Walls, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 15-5.

As of now, neither Banneker nor School Without Walls have any future games scheduled.
