Caleb Gitlin put up the most strikeouts he's had since back in April on Wednesday. As a matter of fact, he produced his best game of the campaign: he struck out 11 batters over eight innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. He is becoming a predictor of Palisades's success: when he allows at most three earned runs the team is 10-2 (and 8-9 when he doesn't).

Coming up, Gitlin and Palisades will challenge Venice at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Dolphins got just the result they wanted when they last faced the Gondoliers thanks in part to Gitlin: he tossed six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off eight hits.
