Softball Recap: Limestone Comes Up Short

Limestone lost to Morton back in April and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Rockets fell just short of the Potters by a score of 2-0. Rockets fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Potters since Tuesday.

KENLEY GRAHAM spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on six hits.

Limestone has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 14 of their last 15 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-21 record this season. As for Morton, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-15.

Limestone and Morton could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Rockets will take on Metamora at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank disadvantage (328 vs. 30). Meanwhile, Morton (ranked 264th) will meet East Peoria (ranked 22nd) at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
