Volleyball Recap: Island Coast Takes a Loss

Island Coast was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 3-1 to the Lehigh Lightning. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lightning this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 last Wednesday.

Jayda Fleming had a dynamite game For Lehigh., getting 19 digs, 15 kills, and five aces. Those 19 digs gave Fleming a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jocelyn Lopez, who had 12 digs, five kills, and two aces.

Island Coast's loss dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Lehigh, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 10-7.

Island Coast wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Estero on the 13th. As for Lehigh, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-2 victory against Cape Coral on the 9th.
