Baseball Recap: Diman RVT Continues Home Dominance on Friday

While Diman RVT's win against Old Colony RVT wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bengals narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Cougars 5-4. The win continues a trend for the Bengals in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won seven in a row.

Samuel Perry made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Perry was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. Perry is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Tanyon Reis, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.

Diman RVT pushed their record up to 2-1 with the victory, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.7 runs over those games. As for Old Colony RVT, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Diman RVT will head out to take on Upper Cape Cod RVT at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Old Colony RVT, they will venture away from home to square off against Tri-County RVT at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
