Basketball Recap: Arcata Piles Up the Points Against Mills

After losing to Mills the last time they met, Arcata decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Arcata Tigers simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Mills Vikings 71-43. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 265th, while the Vikings are ranked 1098th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Loss or not, Mills got some senior leadership from Jefriel Bacorro and Tanay Rai. Bacorro went 6 of 14 en route to 22 points, while Rai posted 17 points.

Arcata's win bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Mills, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Arcata wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 60-43 victory against Central Catholic on the 28th. As for Mills, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 64-42 defeat against International on the 28th.
