Morristown-Beard had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Monday. They walked away with a 6-1 win over the Parsippany Redhawks. While the Crimson didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

John Cartaina spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on one hit and racked up nine Ks.

On the hitting side, Sam Cherins was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Alejandro (AJ) Rodriguez was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Morristown-Beard's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Parsippany, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

Morristown-Beard will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Redhawks: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
