 Harpeth had to endure  a  three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against the Hickman County Bulldogs by a score of  7-3  on Monday. The  victory was just what Harpeth needed coming off of  a  10-2 loss in their prior  match.
  Michael Matheson and  Hayden Penrod were a major factor while hitting and pitching. Throwing,  Matheson   tossed two innings while giving up   no  earned run off   two  hits (he also only allowed one  walk). Meanwhile,  Penrod   struck out 11 batters over  five innings while giving up just two earned runs off   one  hit. Matheson has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't  given up  more than two  hits in five consecutive pitching appearances. At the plate,  Matheson  went 1-for-3 with two  stolen bases and  an  RBI, while  Penrod  scored three  runs and  stole three bases while going 2-for-4.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Hudson Ealy, who  scored a  run and  stole two bases while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was  Aaron Higgs, who  got on base  in three of his four plate appearances with two  stolen bases and  an  RBI.
 On Hickman County's side, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Carter Bates, who  scored a  run while going 1-for-2.
 Harpeth's win bumped their record up to 11-6. As for Hickman County, they dropped their record down to 2-9 with that  defeat, which was their third straight  on the road.
 Harpeth will have a chance to go back-to-back against Hickman County: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled  at 6:30  p.m.  on Tuesday.
