Basketball Recap: Seacrest Country Day Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Ethan Bates and Fedor Vuksanovic

Seacrest Country Day lost against First Baptist Academy back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Seacrest Country Day Stingrays took a 52-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of the First Baptist Academy Lions. While losing is never fun, the Stingrays can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 294th, while the Lions are ranked 41st).

Seacrest Country Day's loss came despite strong showings from Fedor Vuksanovic and Ethan Bates. Vuksanovic went 7 of 12 en route to 15 points and five rebounds, while Bates went 5 of 10 on his way to 14 points and six rebounds. Vuksanovic has been hot recently, having also posted two or more blocks the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Brady Barnaby, who posted ten points.

This is the second loss in a row for Seacrest Country Day and nudges their season record down to 3-2. As for First Baptist Academy, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Seacrest Country Day didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 73-54 defeat against Community School of Naples on the 3rd. As for First Baptist Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 47-38 win against Boca Ciega on the 7th.
