Baseball Game Preview: Medina Bobcats vs. Our Lady of the Hills Hawks

The Medina Bobcats will take on the Our Lady of the Hills Hawks at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Medina is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.

Medina made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Menard, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Medina blew past Menard 15-5 on Tuesday. The victory was nothing new for the Bobcats as they're now sitting on three straight.

Holland Cook was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off three hits. Cook was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, Davis Peterson was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while going 5-for-5. Those five hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ty Jones, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Our Lady of the Hills lost 12-5 to Medina last Tuesday. That's two games in a row now that the Hawks have lost by exactly seven runs.

Tristan O'Neil made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases and one RBI.

Medina's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Our Lady of the Hills, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Everything went Medina's way against Our Lady of the Hills in their previous matchup last Tuesday, as Medina made off with a 12-5 win. Will Medina repeat their success, or does Our Lady of the Hills has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
