If Valor Preparatory Academy wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Carolina International, they should've done a better job of containing KJ Shouse Jr.. The Carolina International Comets walked away with a 75-68 win over the Valor Preparatory Academy Owls on Friday with plenty of help from Shouse Jr., who dropped a double-double with 35 points and ten boards. The contest was his eighth in a row with at least 16 points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Josiah Bridges, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and ten rebounds. He is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 56% in the last 11 games he's played.

Valor Preparatory Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Bishop Witherspoon, who posted 30 points. He is becoming a predictor of Valor Preparatory Academy's success: when he posts at least 30 points the team is 5-1 (and 3-18 when he doesn't). Omarion Dawkins was another key player, putting up 20 points.

Carolina International has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.9 points over those games. Valor Preparatory Academy has traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last 12 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-19 record this season.

Carolina International has already played their next contest, a 78-62 defeat against Queen's Grant on the 22nd. Valor Preparatory Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
