            Basketball Recap: Weequahic Indians vs. Nutley Maroon Raiders        
        
		
        
        
            After losing to Nutley the last time they met, Weequahic decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Weequahic Indians walked away with  a   51-44  victory over the Nutley Maroon Raiders  on Friday. The  win made it back-to-back  victories for the Indians.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Weequahic to victory, but perhaps none more so than   James Porter, who  went 6 for 12  en route to 14 points and six  steals. Weequahic is undefeated when  Porter posts five or  more  steals, but 9-11 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of  Riyahd McDonald, who  dropped  a double-double on ten  points and 18  boards.
 Weequahic  smashed the offensive glass and  finished the game with 15  offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  pulled down at least 12  offensive rebounds in four consecutive  matches.
Weequahic now  has a winning record of 12-11. As for Nutley, they dropped their record down to 12-6 with the  defeat, which was their third straight  on the road.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Weequahic will welcome Golda Och Academy  at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Nutley, they will be playing at home against Tech  at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
