Academy for College and Career Exploration unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They were outmatched by the Thomas Stone Cougars and fell 61-28. Academy for College and Career Exploration's loss continues a trend for the squad, making it nine in a row dating back to last season.

Thomas Stone found their leader in freshman Zoe Carter, who almost dropped a triple-double on 25 points, 13 boards, and nine assists. That makes it four consecutive games in which Carter has scored at least a third of Thomas Stone's points. Another player making a difference was Malaiyah Johnson, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 12 rebounds.

The victory got Thomas Stone back to even at 2-2.

Academy for College and Career Exploration will hit the road for the first time this season to square off against Carver Vo-Tech at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. Thomas Stone will take on Southern in a holiday battle at at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
