Softball Recap: Myrtle Beach Falls Short of Westwood in the Playoffs

Myrtle Beach and Westwood squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Myrtle Beach had to settle for second. They came up short against the Redhawks, falling 14-4. The Seahawks just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Myrtle Beach saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madison Ashmore, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Myrtle Beach's defeat dropped their record down to 5-17. As for Westwood, they moved to 7-19 with that victory, which also ended their seven-game losing streak.

Myrtle Beach does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Westwood, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 6-0 loss against St. James on the 13th.
