The Bland Tigers will square off against the Wolfe City Wolves at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Bland's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last five contests.
Bland's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. Everything went their way against Sulphur Bluff as Bland made off with a 16-0 victory. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Bears recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Brookelynn Boren-Floyd made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. Those six strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, three runs, and one triple.
In other batting news, Zoe Wilson and Kamryn Wade did most of the damage at the plate: Wilson went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI, while Wade scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Natalyn Luper was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Wolfe City made easy work of North Hopkins on Friday and carried off a 16-6 victory. Considering the Wolves have won ten games by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Brooklynn Uzialko was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. The team also got some help courtesy of Lyric Sandlin, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.
Wolfe City was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .462. They are a perfect 13-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Wolfe City has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. Bland's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-10.
Friday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Bland has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .532. However, it's not like Wolfe City struggles in that department as they've averaged .511. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Bland took their win against Wolfe City in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 16-4. Will Bland repeat their success, or does Wolfe City has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
