Football Recap: Providence Academy Skates Past Zion Christian Academy with Ease

Providence Academy humbled the Zion Christian Academy Eagles with a 42-7 victory. The result was nothing new for Providence Academy, who have now won four games by 21 points or more so far this season.

Providence Academy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Cole Blanton and Chase Ballard. Blanton also hauled in two receiving touchdowns, which is notable because Providence Academy is 2-1 when he posts at least two receiving touchdowns, but 2-4 otherwise. Blanton got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Special teams played a big role in the game for Providence Academy, adding 13 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Braden Miller, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

The win made it two in a row for Providence Academy and bumps their season record up to 4-5. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.0 points over those games. As for Zion Christian Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.

Coming up, Providence Academy will square off against Donelson Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Zion Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
