Softball Recap: Brandeis Broncos vs. Madison Mavericks
It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Brandeis ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Madison Mavericks 6-5. That's two games straight that the Broncos have won by just one run.

On the hitting side, Peyton Miers was excellent, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 1-for-4. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times she's played. Daryn Thienpont also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.
Brandeis has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-12 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Brandeis will challenge SA Roosevelt at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Broncos are facing the Rough Riders at the right time seeing as the Rough Riders are stuck on a 16-game losing streak. As for Madison, they will take on LEE at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Volunteers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.05 runs per game on average), something the Mavericks will no doubt try to take advantage of.
