Basketball Recap: Calallen's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Friday

It was a good run, but Calallen unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They fell to the Ingleside Mustangs 58-52. If the Wildcats were looking for revenge after losing 63-55 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Calallen's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sam Cecava, who went 5 for 12 on his way to 12 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Payton Tennill, who went 5 of 6 on his way to 13 points.

Calallen's loss dropped their record down to 16-9. As for Ingleside, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Tuloso-Midway the next time they take the court. Ingleside will head out to face Tuloso-Midway at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Calallen will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on January 10th.
