Volleyball Recap: West Rowan Falls Despite Big Games from Reese Poole and Brinley Hiatt

If West Rowan was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Salisbury last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Falcons fell 3-1 to the East Rowan Mustangs on Tuesday. Surprisingly, this marked the Falcons' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

West Rowan started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-20, 25-14, 25-21.

Despite the loss, West Rowan had strong showings from Brinley Hiatt, who had 30 assists and 20 digs, and Reese Poole, who had 21 digs and two assists.

West Rowan's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for East Rowan, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 10-9.

West Rowan has already played their next game, a 3-2 victory against Davie County on the 17th. As for East Rowan, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Jay M. Robinson on the 18th.
