Volleyball Recap: Highland Takes Down East Chicago Central in a Playoff Battle

It's playoff time, and Highland had no trouble coming through when it counted. They blew past the East Chicago Central Cardinals 3-0 on Thursday. The Trojans not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since September 22nd (when they won 3-0).

Hannah Ladewski paced Highland's offense, picking up 12 kills. Ladewski got some help from Alivia Ekanem and her 29 assists. Ladewski was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

The win snapped Highland's losing streak at eight matches and leaves them with a 7-22 record. As for East Chicago Central, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-16 record this season.

Highland will square off against Griffith at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. East Chicago Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
