Softball Recap: McLaurin Tigers vs. Scott Central Rebels
After flying high against Raymond last Monday, McLaurin came back down to earth. The McLaurin Tigers fell 19-14 to the Scott Central Rebels on Thursday. The loss continues a trend for the Tigers in their meetings with the Rebels: they've now lost three in a row.
Kami Howell and Kaydann Reed stepped up to the plate in a big way. Howell scored two runs while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances, while Reed scored two runs while going 2-for-6. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabby Taylor, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.
They weren't the only ones working in the hit department: McLaurin kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 12 hits in four consecutive games.
McLaurin's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Scott Central, their win ended an 11-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-4.
