Basketball Recap: Ashley Snaps Three-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Ashley won the last time they faced South Brunswick, and Quinn Bentley did his part to make sure it happened again. The Ashley Screaming Eagle came out on top against the South Brunswick Cougars by a score of 50-37 on Tuesday thanks in part to Bentley, who went 7 for 13 on his way to 24 points and five steals. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 16.2 points per game.

Brayden Chase was another key player, putting up nine points. What's more, he also racked up two boards, the most he's had since back in November of 2024.

South Brunswick lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Jayden Daniels, who went 5 of 11 en route to 13 points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Chase Robinson, who posted eight points and eight boards.

Ashley's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-10. As for South Brunswick, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-11.

Ashley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 52-51 victory against Topsail on the 29th. South Brunswick has also already played their next contest, a 73-24 defeat against Hoggard on the 29th.
