Soccer Recap: Menlo School Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Menlo School can now relate to. While the 0-0 score might suggest a draw, it was the Hillsdale FIGHTING KNIGHTS who were credited with the victory on Saturday. The Hillsdale FIGHTING KNIGHTS got it done in the shootout by posting five goals to the Menlo School Knights' four. The Knights were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the FIGHTING KNIGHTS apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Menlo School moved to 16-4 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three games. As for Hillsdale, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 19-1.

Menlo School does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hillsdale, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Terra Linda at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Terra Linda's last six contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
