Basketball Recap: Life Center Academy Falls Despite Big Games from King Josiah Dunkley-Hamilton and Benjamin Duverglas

If Life Center Academy was riding high fresh off their 85-29 takedown of Mercy Career & Technical on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Warriors took a 99-94 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Phelps Lions on Monday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Thursday (85), the Warriors still had to take the loss.

Life Center Academy's loss came despite strong showings from Benjamin Duverglas and King Josiah Dunkley-Hamilton. Duverglas went 9-for-15 from beyond the arc to rack up 40 points and four steals, while Dunkley-Hamilton shot 68% from the field on his way to 36 points and eight rebounds. Dunkley-Hamilton's big performance that afternoon made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Jonathan Levasseur, who posted six points along with five assists and five boards.

Life Center Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Phelps, their win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Life Center Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off.
