Basketball Recap: Franklin Road Christian Triumphs

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Franklin Road Christian walked away with it. They managed a 56-51 win over the Temple Baptist Academy Royal Crusaders on Friday. The Minutemen haven't had any issues with the Royal Crusaders recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Pierre DeShields went supernova for Franklin Road Christian, dropping a double-double with 20 points and 13 boards. What's more, DeShields also posted a 33% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in January of 2024. Ben Walker was another key player, dropping a double-double with 17 points and ten rebounds.

Franklin Road Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 11 consecutive games.

Franklin Road Christian's win bumped their record up to 25-14. As for Temple Baptist Academy, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 17-8 record.

Franklin Road Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 65-50 defeat against Berean Academy on the 28th. Temple Baptist Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
