Softball Recap: Kettle Moraine Gets the Win

Kettle Moraine barely beat Burlington the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Lasers blew past the Demons 9-2 on Saturday. The Lasers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Briella Hack spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Casey Navarro, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Sarah Marcheske, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-4.

Navarro wasn't the only one making solid contact: Kettle Moraine kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Kettle Moraine's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Burlington, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kettle Moraine will face off against Muskego at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Burlington, they will square off against Wilmot at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.29 runs per game on average), something the Demons will no doubt try to take advantage of.
