Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Rio Grande City). They were the clear victors by a 13-1 margin over the Juarez-Lincoln Huskies on Wednesday. The Rattlers have beaten the Huskies the last six times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Huskies has come to flipping the script.

Jorge Vasquez made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Deandre Rodriguez, who went 4-for-5 with three doubles, two runs, and two RBI. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Hiram Lopez was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Rio Grande City hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five strikeouts batters in six consecutive matches.

Rio Grande City's win bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Juarez-Lincoln, they are on a 15-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-15.

Rio Grande City will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Huskies: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
