Basketball Recap: Faith Baptist School Comes Up Short

It was a Battle of the Birds when Faith Baptist School took on Holly Grove Christian on Friday. The Faith Baptist School Falcons were outmatched by the Holly Grove Christian Eagles and fell 48-20. The Falcons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.

Abby Pruitt was nothing short of spectacular for Holly Grove Christian: she went 11 of 16 on her way to 29 points. Pruitt has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Kamryn Salvas, who posted eight points.

This is the second loss in a row for Faith Baptist School and nudges their season record down to 1-2. As for Holly Grove Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Faith Baptist School and Seaside Christian Academy will dust off their jerseys to square off against one another at 4:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for Holly Grove Christian, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Nandua at 5:00 p.m. on January 6, 2025.
