South Bend Riley is 10-0 against New Prairie since February of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the South Bend Riley Wildcats challenge the New Prairie Cougars at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Friday, South Bend Riley earned a 68-61 win over Mishawaka Marian.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask New Prairie). They blew past Oregon-Davis 57-32 on Friday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Cougars as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

New Prairie found their leader in sophomore Brody Wiginton, who went 7 for 11 en route to 25 points and seven boards. That makes it three consecutive games in which Wiginton has scored at least a third of New Prairie's points. Griffin Ernst was another key player, putting up seven points.

New Prairie smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in February of 2024.

New Prairie's win bumped their record up to 3-10. As for South Bend Riley, their victory bumped their record up to 12-3.

South Bend Riley took their win against New Prairie in their previous meeting back in January of 2024 by a conclusive 71-45. Does South Bend Riley have another victory up their sleeve, or will New Prairie turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
