Basketball Recap: Manville Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Middlesex, Manville was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They walked away with a 41-34 win over the Dunellen Destroyers. The Mustangs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Destroyers, too.

Despite the loss, Dunellen still got an impressive performance from Jahzara McLaughlin, who posted six points along with 12 rebounds and four steals. McLaughlin is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Sophie Jimenez was another key player, putting up ten points and seven rebounds.

Manville now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Dunellen, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.

Manville will host Warren County Tech at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Dunellen, they will venture away from home to challenge Kennedy Memorial at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Dunellen is facing Kennedy Memorial at the right time seeing as Kennedy Memorial is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
