Softball Recap: McDowell Comes Up Short

McDowell fell victim to North Buncombe and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They fell just short of the Black Hawks by a score of 2-0. Titans fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Black Hawks since Monday.

This is the second loss in a row for McDowell and nudges their season record down to 5-4. As for North Buncombe, the win keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. McDowell will venture away from home to challenge Watauga at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Titans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Pioneers have averaged an impressive 8.2 runs per game this season. As for North Buncombe, they will head out to take on Asheville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cougars have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.17 runs per game on average), something the Black Hawks will no doubt try to take advantage of.
