George County waltzed into their game on Thursday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Hancock Hawks. That's two games straight that the Rebels have won by just one run.

Carson Pierce spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up eight Ks.

At the plate, George County saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Canyon Reeves, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

George County pushed their record up to 17-9 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Hancock, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-14.

George County will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Hawks: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
