Christ the King falls despite strong effort from Parker Ryan

Recap: Christ the King Crusaders vs. Lincoln Charter Eagles

The Christ the King Crusaders lost against the Lincoln Charter Eagles back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Christ the King took a 53-38 bruising from Lincoln Charter. While losing is never fun, Christ the King can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 345th, while Lincoln Charter is ranked 114th).

Despite the loss, Christ the King still got an impressive performance from Parker Ryan, who scored 18 points along with two steals. Ryan hasn't dropped below 17 points for 11 straight games. Drew Reimels was another key contributor, scoring ten points.

Lincoln Charter's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Justin Hudgins led the charge by scoring 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of David Reed IV, who scored ten points.

Christ the King has not been sharp recently as the team has lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season. As for Lincoln Charter, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Christ the King will face off against Langtree Charter at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Christ the King is facing Langtree Charter at the right time seeing as Langtree Charter is stuck on a 16-game losing streak. As for Lincoln Charter, they will head out on the road to take on Bradford Prep at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Bradford Prep focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Friday.
