Softball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Leeds' Sixth in Last Seven Outings

Leeds had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 15-run drubbing they dealt Ramsay on Tuesday. The Greenwave's pitchers stepped up to hand the Rams a 15-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Greenwave, who have now won nine matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.

Chesney Robison was a standout: she scored three runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in March of 2024. Sophie Gromko was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Leeds always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .677. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ramsay only posted an OBP of .333.

Leeds has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-11 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Ramsay, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-11.

Coming up, Leeds will square off against John Carroll Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Ramsay, they will take on Fultondale at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
