Football Recap: Wausa/Osmond Starts Season with Win Against Wakefield

Wausa/Osmond had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They blew past the Wakefield Trojans 62-14 on Friday. Wausa/Osmond pushed the score to 56-6 by the end of the third, a deficit Wakefield cut but never quite recovered from.

Mac Carlson was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 126 yards and five touchdowns on only 15 carries. Those five rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Matthew Schindler also helped out as he racked up 110 rushing yards.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Wausa/Osmond proved: they limited Wakefield to a paltry 2.6 yards per carry. The team can thank Kaleb Gardner for the heroic effort on defense: he. Wausa/Osmond didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 7.5.

Although Wakefield took the loss, they still got scores from Daniel Jimenez and Mason Lamprecht.
