The Strasburg Rams will face off against the Central Woodstock Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Strasburg is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 20-1 margin over Madison County on Tuesday. The Rams haven't had any issues with the Mountaineers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.
Olivia Moxley and Addison Morgan made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Moxley didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Meanwhile, Morgan tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Moxley has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. At the plate, Moxley went 1-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double, while Morgan went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base. Those two RBI gave Moxley a new career-high.

In other batting news, Kaitlyn Cunningham and Hannah Merriner did most of the damage at the plate: Cunningham went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI, while Merriner went 2-for-5 with four runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those three stolen bases gave Cunningham a new career-high. Chelsea Stine was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Strasburg kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Central Woodstock strolled into their game on Tuesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Luray a 10-0 shutout. That's two games straight that the Falcons have won by exactly ten runs.
Central Woodstock's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-0. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Strasburg, their win bumped their record up to 7-4.
Strasburg came out on top in a nail-biter against Central Woodstock when the teams last played back in May of 2024, sneaking past 6-5. Do the Rams have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Falcons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
