Football Recap: Norwin Skates Past Seneca Valley with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Norwin). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Seneca Valley Raiders 56-13. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Knights with their most commanding win of the season.

It was another big night for Tristyn Tavares, who rushed for 101 yards and two TDs on only eight carries, and also threw for 88 yards and three touchdowns. Those three passing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Giovanni Rothrauff was another key player, rushing for 130 yards and one score.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Norwin was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 275 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 229 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Special teams also played a big role in the game for Norwin, adding 12 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Potter Brozeski, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Norwin's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Seneca Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Looking ahead, Norwin will welcome North Allegheny at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Seneca Valley, they will venture away from home to face off against Moon Area at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
