Basketball Game Preview: Montgomery Aztecs vs. Francis Parker Lancers

The Montgomery Aztecs will take on the Francis Parker Lancers at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Montgomery is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 67.4 points per game this season.

Montgomery is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Olympian just ended the team's six-game winning streak on Friday. They fell to the Eagles 53-47.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Alek Sanchez, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of JJ Sanchez, who posted 11 points and five assists.

Even though they lost, Montgomery smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive rebound total in five consecutive games.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Francis Parker). They took their matchup on Tuesday with ease, bagging an 89-47 victory over Maranatha Christian. The Lancers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 25 points or more this season.

Montgomery's defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 18-2. As for Francis Parker, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 12-9.
