Despite the defeat, Charlotte saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Acelia Beals went 5 for 8 on her way to 15 points. Beals has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Samantha Vega, who posted six points.
Brianna Behn was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 25 points and 11 boards for Booker. Alix Leinweber also deserves some recognition as she scored her first points of the season.
Charlotte's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-8. As for Booker, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-6.
Charlotte wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 58-52 win against George Jenkins on the 24th. As for Booker, they will take on Canterbury at 7:30 p.m. on January 29th.
