Baseball Recap: North Mason Comes Up Short

North Mason lost against Bainbridge on Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Bulldogs took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Spartans. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

North Mason got a good showing from Pauli Calafiore, who tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Calafiore has become a key player for the Bulldogs: the team is 3-1 when he allows at most one hit, but 6-7 otherwise.

At the plate, Calvin Rice made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

North Mason's loss dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Bainbridge, their victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-4.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. North Mason is set to face off against their familiar foe Olympic at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Bainbridge will take on rival North Kitsap at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Spartans 3.6, the Vikings 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
