Lakes and Grayslake Central are an even 5-5 against one another since June of 2021, but not for long. The Eagles will host the Rams at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Lakes and Grant Community meet (two straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Tuesday. The Eagles walked away with a 2-0 win over the Bulldogs.

The 2-0 score doesn't really reflect how close the match was: every set was decided by three points or less. The final score came out to 27-25, 25-22.

If Carmel wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Grayslake Central, they should've done a better job of containing Evan Page. The Rams came out on top against the Corsairs by a score of 2-0 on Monday for which the team can thank Page, who had 11 digs and two aces. He has been hot recently, having posted ten or more digs the last four times he's played.

Grayslake Central easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-21.

Grayslake Central is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-5 record this season. As for Lakes, their victory bumped their record up to 14-17.
