Softball Recap: Wiregrass Ranch Snaps Six-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Wiregrass Ranch couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They lost 11-4 to the Mitchell Mustangs on Thursday. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Bulls, who until this matchup were averaging 3.63 runs allowed.

Aubrey Zechmann made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs. She has been hot for a while, having posted at least one stolen base the last 13 times she's played. Gabby Zambrana also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Wiregrass Ranch's loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 22-5. As for Mitchell, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-6 record this season.

Wiregrass Ranch does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mitchell, they will head out to take on East Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something the Mustangs surely won't give up without a fight.
