Baseball Recap: Richwood Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Richwood, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They walked away with a 15-11 win over the River View Raiders on Tuesday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Lumberjacks needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Christian Neal made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off one hit. Neal was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kaden Lane, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four stolen bases, four runs, and one double. Richwood is 6-1 when Lane posts two or more stolen bases, but 4-8 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Riley Crites, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Richwood now has a winning record of 10-9. As for River View, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last ten matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.
