For the second straight game, Sumter will face off against Westwood. The Gamecocks will challenge the Redhawks at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Sumter is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.

Sumter took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They came out on top against Westwood by a score of 8-4.

Sumter got a big performance out of Hannah DuRant, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Remy Shauf, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.

Sumter hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Westwood struck out 11 times.

Sumter's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-6-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Westwood, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season.
