Basketball Recap: Northland Comes Up Short

After flying high against International Falls last Tuesday, Northland came back down to earth. The Northland Eagles were dealt a 78-46 loss at the hands of the Ely Timberwolves on Saturday. The contest marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Northland now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Ely, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-2.

The future could be bright for both Northland and Ely: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Northland will try to hand Floodwood their eighth-straight defeat when the two meet at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Ely will look to extend Bigfork's three-game losing streak when the meet at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
