Volleyball Recap: Basic Snags 16th Victory in Last 18 Games

Basic had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They won by a set and slipped past the Somerset Sky Pointe Eagles 3-2. This was a revenge game for the Wolves: when they faced off against the Eagles back in April, they had to take a 3-2 defeat.

Derek Dennett was a one-man wrecking crew as he had five digs and five aces. He has been hot, having also posted 12 or more assists the last six times he's played.

Dennett wasn't the only good server: Basic was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in April.

Basic is on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 18 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-10 record this season. As for Somerset Sky Pointe, the loss snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 24-9 record.

Basic didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-2 victory against Mojave on the 13th. Somerset Sky Pointe does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
