Basketball Recap: Lawton Takes a Loss

Lawton lost against Midwest City back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Lawton Wolverines had to suffer through a 62-28 loss at the hands of the Midwest City Bombers. While losing is never fun, the Wolverines can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 391st, while the Bombers are ranked 142nd).

Lawton dropped their record down to 3-16 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Midwest City, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lawton has already played their next match (against Classen SAS), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Midwest City will be playing at home against Del City at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Del City knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Midwest City likes a good challenge.
